How it works
Menu-bar control on the Mac, gaze on the phone.
Sightpad runs as a lightweight menu bar app (no persistent Dock icon).
Open Settings from the status item to handle permissions, pairing, calibration,
gaze behavior, and activation. The free iPhone companion runs face tracking
with TrueDepth on-device; only gaze and pose samples cross to your Mac over a
direct Multipeer link after you enter the short pairing code — not through
Continuity Camera and not through our servers.
01
Pair & permit
Install sightpad on macOS and the companion on iPhone. Pair once using the code shown in the Mac app,
then approve what each side needs — camera and tracking on the phone, Accessibility on the Mac
so the pointer can respond to where you look. No analytics SDKs and no product telemetry in the app.
02
Calibrate per display
Run a 5-point quick calibration or a 9-point extended pass so gaze lines up with
your monitors, posture, and lighting. Calibration data lives on your Mac; you can revisit it anytime from Settings.
If you picked up a Stripe / Keyforge license, activate it under Settings → License.
03
Session: dot, pointer, snap
Start tracking from the menu bar. A small gaze dot shows predicted look location; the macOS pointer can
follow your gaze or snap toward nearby controls when that mode is on. Clicks stay physical — mouse,
trackpad, assistive switch, or whatever hardware you already use completes the action.
